I have ate here multiple times and never had any bad experiences! Living on a budget, this place is the best spot for lunch/dinner! They have a hot sauce bar where you can fill "small" cups of hot sauce and pour over your taco, or chips! One free cup is good for one taco! They have multiple hot sauces you can sample for purchase! I did purchase my favorite sauce, and found out it to be asian and I can go to an asian market to buy it! I didn't feel ripped off at all though, because they were decently priced! SO for the PROS and CONS! Pros: - Great food - Great service - Family Friendly - Fast and excellent service - Great prices! - Friendly Staff - Clean CONS: - None so far in my 7 visits! Happy hour is a great deal! They no longer do $2.00 drafts for happy hour! But sangrias are always a great choice! This place is a walk up and order spot, but has sit-down seating! They bus your trays of food when you're done, so tipping is recommended. OVERALL: This is a gem of a place to eat that I have found by a whim. Great prices, great food, and I bring all my friends from out of town to eat here for lunch or dinner and no one complained yet! Enjoy!

First time at this location, I ordered a salad with chicken and toppings like onions and black olives, I also got a drink. Lines were kind of long for two people taking orders but then I got my food quick. The salad I ordered was delicious and was really good with ranch dressing. Good service and clean places with good music and nice atmosphere to eat. The only thing I do not like is that it is a bit over priced. Lots to choose from in thr the menu, so look slowly. Can't forget they serve beer here!

Great place to come for lunch. The staff is super enthusiastic without being in your face. Accommodating without hovering. Knowledgable without being pretentious. It's like going out to lunch with a bunch of friendly regulars, except the regulars work there and know the menus backwards and front. They can make recommendations no matter what you're feeling. Us all being from out of state and just being here on business, we felt welcome. A fresh lunch at a place that doesn't make you feel like a stranger. How much better can you get? I mean, our churros came out a little slow but whatever they were delicious.

I am a huge fan of Tijuana Flats because sometimes you just need a great crunchy taco. Most of my TFs are in Tampa, but I was back home for a while and got a mean taco craving. This location was everything I've come to expect - friendly service, great food, and a quick lunch stop. My go to are the beef crunchy tacos and maybe some queso for my chips. The taco meat is always well seasoned but that doesn't stop me from adding a little Sweet Sally or sometimes one of the spicier options. Thanks for a great quick bite that was just what I was craving!!

Stopped in on a recommendation from a friend who lives here. The environment is seriously cool; it doesn't really feel like a chain restaurant. Our server was super sweet and excited that it was our first time. She even gave us our chips on the house! Food came very quickly and was delicious. We were checked up on by friendly staff several times throughout our meal. The prices were great as well, we're used to spending maybe a third more for the same product at home. Wonderful experience all around. They'll get the fifth star from me when they start offering tequila ;) Edit: I realized the liquor laws must be different here than they are in Milwaukee. It really was a five star experience!

SO bad. Ordered a very basic meal: bean burrito, chips and salsa. The beans very obviously came from a can, and had dried spices added, and the chips had a vague dust scent to them. Based on the food, I would have to say the great reviews from others who have never actually had Mexican food, or were somehow remunerated to produce positive feedback. I would be remiss, however, to not make note of the staff, who was quite friendly and knowledgeable. That said, if you've been exposed to legitimate Mexican food (from ANY of the regions), avoid Tijuana Flats like the plague.

Small chain tex-mex that offers something a bit different to strip mall Lake Mary. It's not authentic by any stretch of the imagination, but should adequately fulfill your lust for tacos and chimichangas. They're excellent at making your food to order and getting all the little quirky tweaky things right, they even have a non-dairy option so you don't have to pick through and make sure you've caught it all. It makes my random food allergies super easy: no shell, no dairy, swap out the dressing for salsa. And they've gotten it right and handled it with a smile every time. This location crowds up quickly during the lunch and dinner rush and it can be tricky to find parking or a place to sit. It can also be difficult chatting at a normal volume with the music and crowd combined. Get your order to go if you walk in and start feeling like a sardine. I recommend skipping any lettuce centric items at this location, it's always limp and peppered with old bits. I'm fairly certain it's me and one other person that ever order the taco salad here. Aside from the lettuce issue, this is a solid middle of the road that won't disappoint if you don't expect too much.

I love this place. Their chimis are great! Tacos, not so much. They have a "go lite" option so you don't feel too guilty ordering the extra side of queso....mmmm, queso! Live music in Friday nights is always a plus. Fun, different atmosphere with an outdoors area to eat too. The sauces are yummy- especially Slap My Ass & Call Me Sally which is sweetness with a kick!

After reading some other reviews I'm going to break mine down into three sections. The service, the food and then Tex-Mex in the area in general. About the service. I've been coming to this location for literally years. So far back I remember when it occupied a much smaller space. For all of that span of time I have been impressed with the level of service here. I have to give credit to the Area Director or whomever oversees the location as management has to have turned over somewhat over a span of 10 years. That said they've always had attentive management and quite frankly some of the best hourly help I've experienced anywhere in any business. They have way above average employee retention and that's translated into counter help that is second to none. Occasionally long term help can get jaded and service suffers but not here. Other QSR concepts should actively recruit whomever is in charge of corporate service standards. The food. Well it's not going to blow your mind or make your day. No it's not authentic but I've yet to find anything that fits the bill in central Florida anyway. It's fresh and the portions are decent. I'm not a small guy and other than the enchiladas I've found every dish to leave me full to slightly more than comfortable. I do tend to get the taco salad and I'm impressed that instead of using iceberg garbage they have some green leaf mixed with mesclun. Pretty surprising. Another reviewer seemed turned off by variety but I'll take this fresh mix over iceberg any day. I think they could really do something great with the concept if they spent more time on the meats. I wish they would adopt Chipolte's philosophy on high quality proteins. Their beef, chicken and pork aren't bad but on their own they are completely forgettable. If I owned the chain I'd pare down the menu size by 20% and reinvent the entire "meat protocol". I've lived in the Orlando area for 10 years now and I do have to say I find the state of Mexican food in the area appalling. I've tried many recommended places and they have all fallen short. A few years ago I tried a couple of the Latin owned places here in Sanford and found them to serve bland food with a bad attitude towards anyone who didn't speak Spanish. Tijuana Flats benefits from the dearth of real Tex-Mex. Their consistent product puts them near the top of what is a rather low hill. Were they in Denver, Phoenix or even my home town of Columbus they'd have to work a lot harder on the food aspect. With that I'd say the service is a solid 5 stars, the food is 2.5 stars and the competition so meager they finish with 4 stars overall.

This is a chain restaurant with great food. I give it five stars because I've always had phenomenal customer service here. For some reason I love the coke with crushed ice.

Yum! The food is your basic tex-mex, but it's consistent and good! I love the hot sauce bar, since I love hot sauce, but I haven't found a sauce on the bar that blew my socks off. My husband can't get enough of this place. The hits include, the tacos, chimichanga, and queso/chips. Fast, friendly service as well. Glad it's nearby!

Super tasty quesadilla and salsa. Hit the spot for dinner. Although the noodle joint next store was super packed and over flowing in front of Tijuana Flats... I am happy with our decision for dinner. If I am ever in town again I may swing in...

I'm very impressed with this location. I'm a big Tijuana Flats fan and have varying levels of service at the locations I've visited. This place, from start to finish, was awesome. The lady who took my order was pleasant, cute, and helpful in giving me a recommendation. Too many places today where you ask for someone's opinion on a menu item is met with a "I don't have an opinion" or "it's all good." Nope, I was told why the beef was her favorite and promptly ordered it. The manager was a super nice guy, came over, chatted with us, refilled our drinks multiple times, and cleaned our table for us. Bravo to the staff of this Tijuana Flats. I'll be back for sure.

Tijuana Flats is always a great lunch experience. Vegetarian friendly which is a plus for my wife. Their carnitas flautas are delicious and their queso is supreme. The burritos can be a little cold and drippy if you don't order them wet, but that is an easy problem to avoid. The atmosphere in one or the better TF atmosphere's I've encountered.
(5)
Randy S.
Fast food only in the time it took to get our food. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Easy menu. Good size servings, presentation and taste of food was wonderful. 16 choice sauce bar will give you plenty of ways to customize your plate. Beer and outside seating available. We will be back!

Very quick and excellent service. While our recent experience was a Saturday afternoon and there wasn't much of a crowd, we have had different experiences when the place is jammed. For instance on Taco Tuesday the place is packed and understandbly the service isn't as stellar. We like the food, particularly the chimichanga/quesadilla or the enchiladas. The salsa that comes with the chips and salsa is kind of plain and nothing special. I do enjoy their queso and highly recommend the hot bar for their vast array of sauces.

MacGregor M.
I love Tijuana Flats (TF), but this branch is different in that the servings are much less than the other Tijuana Flats places that I visited. Why the size discrepancy? If you really have to go to this particular TF location, I suggest that you stick with the small portions to get a better value.
(2)
Karen R.
We tried Tijuana Flats a couple of months ago, after recalled a review I heard on a favorite podcast. We were not disappointed! Nicely sized menu, with plenty of options. Reasonably priced and huge portions! I can get at least two meals from one order of enchiladas. The guacamole is fresh and has a wonderful flavor - we often get an additional side order. The queso is well-flavored as well. I wish the chips had a bit less salt in them, but they are so light and crispy that I love them despite the extra saltiness. Burritos and fish tacos also get two thumbs up from us and their nachos easily feed 2-3 people as a meal unto themselves. TF has quickly become one of our favorite Tex Mex places!

This place is Chipotle and Free Birds on steroids! The first difference is you walk up and order and your food is prepared in a kitchen and then brought to your table by an adorable server (we had Johanna). She was so helpful in guiding our large party to just the right amount of food and delicious menu choices. The chips, queso and guacamole were outstanding. A small order is anything but small; I can't imagine a large order. I had the tostadas which are small, crispy tortillas each topped with meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and probably a lot more deliciousness! I had a combo of beef and chicken; both were awesome. Our group of 12 had a variety of items from the menu and everyone was extremely satisfied with their food. There is a sauce bar that is completely overwhelming; who knew there were so many different hot sauces! They offer beer and margaritas too, so you can really enjoy a meal here! This place is a casual atmosphere, but the food and service make you feel like you're actually at a nicer restaurant. Loved everything about our visit!

We really this place. Good mix of service and quick food. You have to really know about what you are ordering it seems since the food can be kinda bland without their sauce bar. We have a few staples like their blackened chicken quesadilla and their chicken salad with guacamole ranch dressing that you really can't go wrong with.

My boyfriend has shown me the way of of Taco Tuesdays, $4.99 for 2 tacos and a drink, and the tacos are quite large. The wait on Taco Tuesdays can be a little long, but bring a friend and talk the wait away. I love visiting their sauce bar and finding new ways to torture my tongue. They grade the sauces so if you're weak you can find sauces that don't bring too much heat.
(4)
Brandi B.
I love TF, but I'm breaking up with this location. They always burn my nachos, never remember my guacamole or salsa for said nachos, the parking lot SUCKS, the handicapped accessibility here STINKS (too many tables in too little space), and their sauce bar is always a mess. They've just outgrown their space years ago and I've outgrown their space, too, so, THERE. It's OVER, Lake Mary Tijuana Flats! I'm with Sanford Tijuana Flats, now, OK?!? :P

This Tijuana Flats has been a long time staple of my lunches over the past 10 years. My standard order is the Beef or Chicken Burrito loaded with Chipotle on top, or the DosTacos Soft. I will say that they do have decently healthy food for a mexican style place, and the hot bar is always a good option to add some spice. They are a real classy place, when it comes to the quality ingredients, you don't get the filler rice that you get at other taco/burrito place.
(4)
Kevin M.
Grossly over priced with bland food they expect you to make half palatable with a large array of sauces. If they took any pride in the quality and flavor of their food you wouldn't need sauces to cover it up! They hit you up for any little add-in so it's tough to get a decent portion without getting over $10/person with just a soda. Invest your money elsewhere....like an Old El Paso dinner from Publix...

Live music on Friday night, but a little loud. Food was as expected; made to order with the ingredients you choose, good size portions.

Service is absolutely amazing. Food is equally awesome. Atmosphere is fun, relaxed and family friendly. Friday nights they have live music from 6pm - 9pm. Lake Mary's best kept secret.

Ok I know it is a chain, and I have been to a few, but this location is the one I have been to most. Admirable is the sauces. What's left is the ok food. I took away a few stars for the times I got upset stomach on their Quesadillas. Having seen other people enjoy it I gave the place more chances and I do enjoy their tacos (the difference I don't really know). Smack My Ass and call me Confused. Dafe

This place is a staple in my life. I buy the sweet chili sauce by the bottle there.. It's like 5 bucks and u can take it home and put it on everything. The burritos are great, fajitas are great, deserts are great, everything is great. Fun environment to just chill at.. I don't feel like I have to dress up... AND menchies is right next door. Hell yes.

Tijuana Flat's (no matter which location) always has great food. I recommend the beef chimichanga, chips & queso and the peach/fruity hot sauce (which isn't hot at all). However, particular location has a, eh, let's say obnoxious employee who likes to yell customer's names excessively and kind of annoyingly. It probably wouldn't bother most people, but this location is the closest to my house so I come here pretty frequently and she seems to always be working. Anyways, the good food and fun atmosphere overpowers the obnoxiousness and everyone should try T.Flats at least once!

Dependable Mexican food - great sauces - Smack My Ass And Call Me Sally is a favorite but try one of the dozens at the sauce bar.

Tijuana flats holds a special place in my heart (stomach?) as the best tex-mex chain around. All of the ingredients are fresh, and each of their meats, salsa, queso, refried beans, and most other things are all made from scratch. The hot sauce bar is amazing, as is the overall feel of the restaurant. My recommendation? A Tijuana sized chicken & black bean burrito, with chipotle sauce and melted cheese on top.. add some sweet chili sauce and some habanero smack my ass and call my sally sauce and you're set to go. Delicious.

Love me some Taco Tuesday at TF!!! I usually only go on Tuesday's cause you can get 2 tacos for $5 that includes the drink and chips too. I usually also always get it to go cause they are big portions and I can't finish it. I love the atmosphere, tons of bumper stickers and art on the walls, literally painted on the walls. Very visually appealing. I also love all the salsas that they offer. And it's fun to combine some of them to make your own "special sauce". The staff is always super friendly no matter what night you go. It's family friendly, wallet friendly and belly friendly :)

Happy to receive a BOGO coupon from TFlats yesterday from their mailing list, tonight I dined on a Megajuana Beef Burrito (hold the sour cream!!) The lobby was PACKED--I'm assuming I am not the only one that got the coupon-- But the service was fast and friendly as usual. The food was out of the kitchen quickly and they remembered the NO sour.*they are VERY good with requests* A few of my favorite sauces were tapped out @ the bar, but the selection was plentiful. With a side of queso and a sweet tea, this was a pretty good Thursday dinner experience.

Best (FAST) Mexican food anywhere! Love the colorful deco too. Not full service but they work very hard to make you happy. You order then sit down and they bring the food to you. The manager will most likely walk by and ask if everything was good. Good prices. I usually spend less than 10$ for a big amount of yummy food. By the way everything on th menu is delicious! Just point at any selection and you will love it!

Food is always good here, good value for the price. The service is usually good, the staff is quite attentive. The live music on Fridays can be nice but sometimes a bit loud. My wife and I love this place and come here almost every week. We also enjoy the chips and cheese with shredded melted cheese instead of queso.

Not sure what the fuss is about, but my experience was not that great. The food was OK but the atmosphere and conditions of the store were not impressive. Floor was sticky in some spots, especially around the sauce bar.

What the heck? I have no idea why some folks like this place. It is basic low end mexican food with beer and some hot sauces. Unfortuately it is the best Mexican food in lake Mary (I think only). Service always pretty good.

We LOVE Tijuana Flats! We eat there a few times a month. Their chips and salsa are the best in town. Their chips have some garlic salt or pepper on them that make them unique. I love the cilantro in the salsa. My husband loves their enchiladas and variety of hot sauces. I like their hard shell taco, which is huge. Their taco salad is also very yummy!

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I just absolutely love Tijuana Flats and you can't go wrong at any location! I've been to the one in Oviedo all the way to the one in Leesburg and everywhere in between and they are all awesome!

I love Tijuana Flats (TF), but this branch is different in that the servings are much less than the other Tijuana Flats places that I visited. Why the size discrepancy? If you really have to go to this particular TF location, I suggest that you stick with the small portions to get a better value.

Loved everything about our visit!

great! food is super yummy! and I'm vegan and I was able to eat here! The hot sauce bar is brilliant! So much fun!!
(5)John B.

(2)Steve B.
(4)Kevin M.

(4)Russ F.
Service is absolutely amazing. Food is equally awesome. Atmosphere is fun, relaxed and family friendly. Friday nights they have live music from 6pm - 9pm. Lake Mary's best kept secret.
(5)Dave T.

Hell yes.
(5)JW U.
Smack my ass and call me sally, I like this place just the way it is - different.
(4)Lindsey V.
(4)John B.
Dependable Mexican food - great sauces - Smack My Ass And Call Me Sally is a favorite but try one of the dozens at the sauce bar.
(4)Robert B.
Great experience! Parking was full but the service was great! This location is a better choice than the Sanford location on 46.
(5)Rod H.
The food is always good and prices ok.
(3)Justin M.

(3)Raymond H.
Decent for the price, but not at all authentic. You can do much better than this.
(2)Vinny F.
(5)Dana A.
Food is always good here, good value for the price. The service is usually good, the staff is quite attentive. The live music on Fridays can be nice but sometimes a bit loud. My wife and I love this place and come here almost every week. We also enjoy the chips and cheese with shredded melted cheese instead of queso.
(4)Darren H.
Not sure what the fuss is about, but my experience was not that great. The food was OK but the atmosphere and conditions of the store were not impressive. Floor was sticky in some spots, especially around the sauce bar.
(3)robert l.
